Garmin’s Milestone – over 100 Million devices sold
At the beginning of May, Garmin reported that more than 100 million products were sold, supplying motorists, pilots, boaters, runner, cyclists, golfer, hikers with the best quality GPS devices.
Garmin updates MapInstall
MapInstall Updated to version 4.0.0!

Changes made from version 3.15.0 to 4.0.0:
- Added ability to automatically send all current map products to newer devices if possible.
- Added ability to send full map products to newer devices rather than needing to select individual map tiles.
- Added display of how many map tiles are selected.
- Changed the map selection page to no longer list map products that are locked for the selected device.

Thailand Street Map updated to v.12.1
New TSM version 12.1
The latest map includes several enhancements such as:
- Update 820,000 km. of Thailand road data.
- Update 800,000 points of interest (POIs) for navigation.
- Introduce Nostra Guide data** including categories such as shopping, attractions, and restaurant.
- Update Junction Views in Bangkok and Chiang Mai (for compatible devices only).
- Special! Add warning sound and message when approaching traffic light.***
- Add new 3-D buildings in Bangkok and terrain views for up-country.
- Update 150,000 telephone numbers (navigable).
- Support traffic report* (for compatible devices only).

A new solar storm on the way – high accuracy GPS system usage disturbance expected
(Reuters) – A strong geomagnetic storm is racing from the Sun toward Earth, and its expected arrival on Thursday could affect power grids, airplane routes and space-based satellite navigation systems, U.S. space weather experts said.
Although the solar storm is stronger than the one in January, it should not affect turn-by-turn GPS units in cars.
